Topp Canine Solutions is owned and operated by Erin Topp. Erin is certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), an international testing and certification program for animal training and behavior professionals. The CCPDT’s certification program is based on humane, force-free training practices and the latest scientific knowledge related to dog training. Erin is also a Certified Training Partner of the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA), an international education program that administers a comprehensive assessment of a student’s technical ability and hands-on skill teaching pet owners and training pet dogs. Committed to providing the most effective, convenient solutions to her clients’ dog training needs, Erin avidly pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development by attending several seminars per year and keeping current on all industry literature.

To help other dogs get a second chance, Erin also volunteers for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and is a foster home for Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus. She has been part of the Ames area animal community for the past 20 years – starting young in 4H and continuing through high school and college by working as a Veterinary Assistant and training her friend’s dogs. When not helping clients to enjoy easier lives with their canine companions, Erin competes in obedience and lure coursing with her own four dogs – Bourbon (Doberman), Vito (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix), Monday (American Staffordshire Terrier), and Rookie (American Staffordshire Terrier).
